It is really sad to know that some publishers think they own the writer.

The relationship should be a partnership. Because the publisher business depends mainly on the productions of the writer. The writer could find satisfaction of spreading his ideas in many different ways. But without the product, the writings, the publisher will have no business.

It is as simple as that. So, publishers are supposed to spoil writers. Because they are the cows the milk gold. Abusing them is just a poor business practice.

I am so in the game :) I will just take my time writing. Because you know it is Ramadan. Time is so tight.

Thanks for tagging and dragging me back to blogging

Very well said Shimaa! I've been trying to publish my novel for ten months now. TEN! And the publishing house is treating me (or rather mistreating me) like they own me, like I work for them, and like I'm a lesser person than they are. And I've been trying to publicise my book all by own.

And you just spilled out the words of exactly how I feel really. Very well written.

Hello Amr
I think it is just plain stupidity to act in that way. This is not how people run business. It may have worked in another time when a writer had to go through hell to find a mean to communicate his ideas to the world.

It is their loss.

I really hope your novel will soon find its way to be published. I can't wait to read it
